Obama's Lowlights (8/19/12)

http://thetheoryofmediocrity.blogspot.com/
Corporate Welfare - According to Cato, the most spending on
“corporate welfare” programs in the federal budget -- more than $25 billion --
went to the U.S. Department of Agriculture. A majority of the department’s farm
subsidies go to the largest farms, the report noted. The Department of Energy
is responsible for nearly $18 billion in corporate welfare in FY 2012. Other
programs to make the list: the Department of Housing and Urban Development
(HUD)’s Community Development Block Grant program ($285 million); the Commerce
Department’s Broadband Technology Opportunities Program ($2.2 billion);
attempts by Transportation Department policymakers to develop a high-speed rail
network ($1.2 billion) and the Interior Department’s Bureau of Land Management
($1.4 billion) land-use programs.

Wealth Tax – As a massive tax of 75% is being planned on the wealthy
in France, it could backfire and lead to a mass exodus from the country. The
same can happen in the U.S. as more and more people are rescinding their
citizenship because of high taxes.

Nuclear Power - The government is
suspending permits and license extensions for nuclear power plants,
which account for 18% of the country’s electricity, until issues
concerning disposal of nuclear waste are resolved.

Health Care - The founder and CEO of
Papa John’s warned they will have to raise the price of its pizzas due to
President Obama’s health care law.

Gas Prices - With gas and oil prices
rising, rail shipping is making a comeback in America.

Welfare - Over 100 million people in
the United States are receiving some form of federal welfare.

Taxes – An inspector general report
claims 4.2 billion dollars in child tax credits were issued to illegal aliens.

Allen West - A Democratic lawmaker says Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.) offended the
entire Congressional Black Caucus by delivering Chick-fil-A chicken and
biscuits to their weekly meeting -- and then walking out -- when it was his
turn to provide the group with a formal lunch. In other news the American Sunrise
Super PAC released a TV ad featuring Rep. Allen West wearing boxing gloves and
beating up white women in a boxing ring. He is also featured stealing money
from a black family.

Cancer Ad – The Obama campaign denies
any knowledge of the appalling Obama Super PAC commercial that claimed Romney
was to blame for a former Bain employee (Joe Soptic) wife’s death. However,
information has come forward that the campaign has once again lied and were
fully aware of the story back in May. In other developments, Soptic admits he
was offered a buy out from Bain and was not just laid off. In fact, Bain helped
the Soptic family with other financial issues. Yet, the Obama campaign is
condemning Republican Super PAC attacks on his economic record.

New Jersey – Governor Chris Christie
signed the teacher tenure reform legislation into law which will no longer
protect bad teachers.

ObamaCare - Currently, according to
CBO, there are 53 million uninsured persons in the United States, including
uninsured illegal aliens. The CBO estimates that in 2022--8 years after the
Affordable Care Act has been fully implemented--30 million people will remain
uninsured.

Bailouts – Obama wants to bailout
all struggling industries:
“I said, I believe in American workers,
I believe in this American industry, and now the American auto industry has
come roaring back,” he said. “Now I want to do the same thing with
manufacturing jobs, not just in the auto industry, but in every industry.”
